Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate, GED and Pharmacy Technician degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician desirable.
• Knowledge of drug nomenclature and pharmacy math; ability to communicate in English, Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
• Keyboarding skills; literacy with pharmacy computer systems, IDX preferred
• Ability to work with professional medical staff and several pharmacy programs.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, stock and distribute medications to patients and departments.
• Record and file prescriptions and orders from physicians.
• Sort, stock, label medications and monitor inventory.
• Respond to requests from patients and healthcare providers; refer inquiries to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain clean and safe pharmacy; sterilize equipment and surfaces.
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure information is accurate and complete.
• Record, calculate and issue charges.
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned by a Physician or facility manager.
