Job summary

HarperRand is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician Skills Assistant in San Antonio, TX, to support instructors in healthcare training programs. The role runs 3–12 weeks, with evening sessions 5:30 pm–9:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Licensed pharmacy techs with a passion for teaching will help prepare students for externships and professional practice. The program emphasizes patient care values and hands-on labs, with strong emphasis on accurate, compassionate instruction and ongoing skill

Qualifications

Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
1 year experience in the Pharmacy field (preferred).
Teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.
Energetic and able to deliver instruction passionately.
Efficient with computers and technology.
Organized and detail oriented.
Must understand all Pharmacy related medical math concepts and be able to teach them to class

Responsibilities

Assists students with the skills associated with the scope of practice for their designated subject.
Assist lead instructor to evaluate, report and record student performance and progress.
Assist lead instructor with all required skill labs, grading class assignments, and exams.
Prepares students to go on to an externship.
Assists students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
Provides a professional role model for students.
Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies
