Job summary

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician Skills Assistant to support instructors and students in Oakland, CA. You will assist with skill labs, evaluations, and exams to help students practice the pharmacy scope of care.

The program runs 3–12 weeks; licensure as Pharmacy Technician is required. Schedule is Mon & Wed, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with emphasis on teaching, patient safety, and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
• 1 year experience in the Pharmacy field (preferred).
• Teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.
• Must be energetic and able to deliver instruction passionately.
• Efficient with computers and technology.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Must understand all Pharmacy related medical math concepts and be able to teach them to class.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with the skills associated with the scope of practice for their designated subject.
• Assist lead instructor to evaluate, report and record student performance and progress.
• Assist lead instructor with all required skill labs, grading class assignments, and exams.
• Prepares students to go on to an externship.
• Assists students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Provides a professional role model for students.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies.
