Job summary

Central Admixture Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to prepare compounded sterile products and supervise IV technicians under the Director of Pharmacy. You will review orders, ensure compliance, and resolve discrepancies while providing after-hours On Call coverage as needed.

Qualification includes a PharmD or Bachelor's degree, 1+ years experience, and ACPE IV Certification. Schedule includes 11am-6pm with alternating weekends and holidays. CAPS SOPs govern daily practice.

Position Summary:

Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for the preparation compounded sterile products using and related activities under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy. Assists in the supervision of IV technicians, interns and other support personnel.

• Adheres to all policies and procedures
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique and CAPS Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies.
• Reviews orders and prescriptions for admixing and dispensing.
• Resolves order discrepancies and problems with customer pharmacy personnel. Provides after hour On Call coverage as needed.
• Participates in CAPS Continuous Quality Improvement Program and performs Quality Control functions as assigned.
• Assists in successful pharmacy operation: troubleshooting equipment problems, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• May supervise IV Technicians and interns; reviews works for accuracy while ensuring compliance with CAPS SOPs.
