Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is seeking a Pharmacist for part-time, 20 hours per week. The role involves processing medication orders, IV preparation, and providing drug information to clinicians and patients.

The successful candidate will hold a Licensed Registered Pharmacist credential in Illinois and a Bachelor's degree. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with pay starting at $52.60 per hour and experience-based advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Licensed Registered Pharmacist (IL) credential required.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with inquiries and concerns.
• Trains technicians and new pharmacists to ensure quality service.
• Supervises and verifies technician work for accuracy.
• Participates in quality assurance activities (anticoagulation monitoring, SCIP, medication reconciliation).
• Performs daily pharmacist duties: interpret, prepare, and check medications as ordered by physicians.
• Clarifies orders to prevent improper dosing or hazards.
• Monitors therapies for allergies, interactions and appropriateness.
• Prepares admixtures (IVs, irrigations, TPN, chemo agents).
• Provides drug information to medical and nursing staff.
• Instructs patients on proper use and effects of medications.
• Enforces formulary and communicates with physicians on non-formulary orders.
