Qualifications

• Must hold a current state pharmacist license (RPh).
• Immunization license preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Read, review and dispense incoming prescriptions for accuracy, suitability to patient, and potential interactions.
• Provide information to patients on side effects, dosage, storage needs, and interactions.
• Maintain patient records and pharmacy files.
• Conduct regular inventory and categorize stock.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Review prescriptions for legality and clinical appropriateness.
• Counsel patients on medication usage and side effects.
• Promote medication adherence.
• Administer immunizations where applicable.
• Comply with state and federal pharmacy laws.
• Maintain records and manage controlled substances per DEA guidance.
• Oversee technicians and interns.
• Perform medication therapy management (MTM).
• Handle insurance claims and coverage issues.
• Monitor for prescription fraud and drug misuse.
• Participate in health screenings and public health initiatives.
• Stay updated on new drugs, therapies, and regulations.
