Job summary

Masters Academy International (MAI) seeks drivers to provide safe, reliable transportation for students, staff, and athletic teams. The role covers daily routes, campus shuttles, and special events, with emphasis on safety and professionalism in every interaction.

Two shift options are available: 7:00–11:00 a.m. Monday–Friday (no CDL) and 1:00–6:00 p.m. Thursday–Friday ( CDL required). Opportunities for additional substitute hours exist for CDL holders.

Responsibilities

  • Operate school-owned buses, vans, and commercial vehicles safely and efficiently across daily pickup/drop-off routes, campus shuttles, and residential airport transfers.
  • Transport athletic teams, coaches, and staff to regional games, tournaments, showcase events, and field trips, ensuring timely arrivals for warmups and events.
  • Adhere strictly to assigned travel itineraries, route sheets, and dispatch schedules, adapting calmly to real-time traffic or weather adjustments under the guidance of the Transportation Coordinator.
  • Assist student-athletes and coaches with the safe loading and unloading of luggage, athletic gear, and specialized equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful environment on board all vehicles, enforcing student safety rules and transportation behavior guidelines.
  • Communicate proactively with the Transportation Coordinator, coaches, and campus leadership regarding delays, route disruptions, or operational needs.
  • Respond swiftly, calmly, and strictly according to MAI protocols in the event of a vehicle breakdown, traffic delay, adverse weather, or emergency.
  • To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct.
  • To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing.
  • To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.
  • To engage in safeguarding training when required.

Job Description

The Driver is a critical operational role responsible for providing safe, reliable, and punctual transportation for Masters Academy International (MAI) students, elite athletic teams, staff, and residential groups. Given MAI's unique mission integrating high-level academics with elite athletic competition, transportation directly impacts student safety, schedule fidelity, and the overall family experience.

This role requires a dedicated professional who prioritizes safety above all else, maintains flawless compliance with state and federal transportation regulations, and represents the school with professionalism. Sitting at the front line of daily campus operations and athletic travel, the Driver ensures that student-athletes and staff travel safely, comfortably, and on schedule across daily routes, regional competitions, and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Transportation & Athletic Travel:
    1. Operate school-owned buses, vans, and commercial vehicles safely and efficiently across daily pickup/drop-off routes, campus shuttles, and residential airport transfers.
    2. Transport athletic teams, coaches, and staff to regional games, tournaments, showcase events, and field trips, ensuring timely arrivals for warmups and events.
    3. Adhere strictly to assigned travel itineraries, route sheets, and dispatch schedules, adapting calmly to real-time traffic or weather adjustments under the guidance of the Transportation Coordinator.
    4. Assist student-athletes and coaches with the safe loading and unloading of luggage, athletic gear, and specialized equipment.
  • Vehicle Inspection, Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
    1. Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily, accurately logging mechanical conditions, tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and cleanliness.
    2. Immediately report mechanical issues, defects, or needed repairs to the Transportation Coordinator to maintain fleet reliability and prevent downtime.
    3. Maintain detailed, audit-ready daily driver logs, mileage sheets, fuel receipts, and duty status records in full compliance with state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations.
    4. Ensure vehicles are kept clean, fueled, sanitized, and properly stocked with emergency equipment (first aid kits, fire extinguishers, reflectors) at all times.
  • Student Management & Operational Integration:
    1. Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment on board all vehicles, enforcing student safety rules and transportation behavior guidelines.
    2. Communicate proactively and professionally with the Transportation Coordinator, coaches, and campus leadership regarding delays, route disruptions, or operational needs.

Schedule

There are two opportunities currently available. We are looking for a driver Monday-Friday from 7:00am-11:00am. This position does NOT require a CDL. We are also looking for a driver Thursdays and Fridays from 1:00pm-6:00pm. This position does require a CDL. If you have your CDL, there will be an opportunity to earn additional hours on a substitute basis.
