JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management Department (RPTM) is currently seeking a part-time data technician. This position consists mainly of weekends with some weekdays available, starting immediately.

Job Duties:

• Conduct face-to-face interviews.

• Conduct visitor counts at various locations in the Pinchot and Weiser State Forests.

Requirements and qualifications:

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to follow directions.

• Detail-oriented.

• Ability to work independently in remote locations.

• Responsible individual with a polite, courteous, and friendly demeanor.

• Willingness and ability to drive long distances.

• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.

• Knowledge and skill in written/oral communication.

• Ability to conduct interviews with recreation users.

• Coordinate data collection with project supervisor on a daily basis.

• This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

• Must be available to work weekends.
