Position Overview

Under general supervision, provides direct patient care to assigned patients.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. For all nurses hired after 2012, Bachelor’s degree required within 3 years of start date.
• Licensures/Certifications: Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse. Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course, bi-annually.
• Experience: One-year Registered Nurse experience required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Utilization of Nursing Process

• Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and reassessment of patient care.
• Compiling data, formulating nursing diagnoses, and planning care based on scientific and psychosocial principles.
• Coordination with patients, families, and healthcare team for discharge planning.

Patient Care Coordination

• Managing daily patient assignments and delegating responsibilities appropriately.
• Monitoring nursing care delivered by ancillary personnel.

Teaching and Quality Improvement

• Developing and implementing patient teaching and discharge plans.
• Participating in educational programs and clinical monitoring.
• Identifying and addressing care problems.

Professional Excellence

• Participating in activities of higher-level RN roles, serving as charge nurse or preceptor if competent.

Additional Details

• Pay Range: $31.25 - $48.02, based on qualifications and experience.
