Job summary

Hope Lutheran Church in Quincy, Illinois is seeking a part-time pastor to lead and shepherd the congregation, preach God’s Word, and build relationships with the surrounding community.

The ideal candidate will have a bible college degree with pastoral experience, and may pursue a Master of Divinity; willingness to study is welcomed. Expect worship leadership, pastoral care, and active involvement in AWANA and outreach.

Qualifications

• Requires biblically sound ministry with pastoral experience.
• Masters of Divinity preferred or willingness to take classes toward it.
• Strong desire to lead and shepherd a church community.

Responsibilities

• Lead worship and preach three Sundays a month.
• Provide pastoral care at baptisms, funerals, weddings, and hospital visits.
• Build relationships with Hope and the surrounding community.
• Follow up with visitors and engage in long-range planning meetings.
• Familiarity with AWANA Bible clubs and youth activities.
