Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Roseville, MI is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s parties. You will engage guests of all ages, lead activities, and coordinate add-ons while delivering friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You’ll manage communications with clients and colleagues, assist with administrative tasks, and ensure smooth setup and breakdown of events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events (including children’s parties) within the Michaels store.
• Engage with clients of all ages and provide friendly customer service.
• Demonstrate and instruct craft activities; perform face painting and other activities as needed.
• Assist with event add-ons (goody bags, balloons, etc.) per company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members; handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Set up, break down, and clean before/after each event; adjust plans based on feedback.

Store - DET-ROSEVILLEPlan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.**Event Coordination*** Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.* Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.* Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.* Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.* Communicate events with clients and store team members.* Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.* Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.* Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.* Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.* Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
