The City of Hillsboro is seeking a detail‑oriented and creative Part‑Time Communications Specialist to support the Hillsboro Parks & Recreation team. This role blends digital content creation, print and web design, content management, and communications coordination to keep the community connected with programs, services, and events year‑round.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field and four years of experience in digital communications or web management (or equivalent).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, and social media management.

Responsibilities

• Support storytelling, lead generation, and brand awareness across HP&R communications.
• Manage social media content creation, publishing, and community engagement.
• Coordinate email newsletters for internal and external audiences.
• Assist with website updates, seasonal activity info, and calendar items.
• Support print publications (e.g., Activities Guide) design and formatting.
• Monitor data on marketing campaigns, website traffic, and social reach.
• Enter requests into Asana for graphic design workflow.
• Maintain templates and update Google Business profiles for parks and facilities.
