Job summary

The City of Kannapolis is seeking a Park Maintenance Technician I for a part-time role in the Parks and Recreation Department. The position reports to a Park Manager I and performs semi-skilled grounds maintenance and event support under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with opening/closing parks, enforcing park rules during events, beautification tasks, mowing and litter pickup, and general custodial duties. Requires a GED or HS diploma and NC drivers license.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work unusual hours, especially nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close parks with Parks Maintenance staff.
• Enforce rules and regulations at parks and during events.
• Beautification tasks such as planting flowers and mulching.
• Maintain grounds: mowing, trimming, litter pickup and trash collection.
• Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties.
• Provide manual labor for events (concerts, movies).
• Perform related tasks as assigned.
