Job summary

The South Amboy Board of Education has an opening for a part-time paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year, up to 29 hours per week. Rate of pay will be per negotiated agreement between the South Amboy Board of Education & the South Amboy Education Association. Requirements include a County Substitute License or 60 college credits; verification of enrollment if enrolled.

Fingerprinting and a physical exam are required. CPI Training is preferred.

Qualifications

County Substitute License required or eligibility via 60 college credits for a substitute license.
If not licensed, must have at least 60 college credits to apply for a County Substitute License.
30 credits required with current enrollment in college; verification of enrollment required; must be at least 20 years of age.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher with implementing the daily program.
Assist with clerical tasks, recordkeeping, and preparation of instructional materials.
Assist with supervision of students and with behavior management plans.
Work with students individually and in small groups to support learning.
Maintain cleanliness and orderly arrangement of materials and equipment in the classroom.
Assist children with preparing for and moving to other classrooms, activities, or arrival/dismissal.
