Job summary

Midland Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Paraprofessional for MTSS at H. H. Dow High School in Midland, MI.

The role supports elementary students with academic interventions, under the supervision of the Building Principal. Typical hours are up to 29 per week, Monday through Friday when instruction is in session, at a starting wage of $16 per hour.   • Provide academic interventions to elementary students.
  • Assist with lunch supervision and monitor behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of instruction.
  • Support teachers with MTSS processes as directed by the Building Principal.

Job Description

Assignment Information

  • Part-Time
  • Up to 29 Hours/Week
  • Monday - Friday (when instruction is in session)
  • $16/Hour - Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement

Assignment Functions and Responsibilities

Paraprofessional will provide acadecmic interventions to Elementary students as assigned by the Building Principal.

Previous experience with academic interventions is preferred

Qualifications and Education

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
  • Must be Highly Qualified
    • Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits -or-
    • Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or-
    • ParaPro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
      • The ETS ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test used to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals in areas like reading, writing, and math, according to ETS. It's designed to determine if individuals possess the necessary abilities to effectively assist teachers in classroom instruction.

  • Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers

  • Some lifting may be required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
