Job summary

Midland Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work one-on-one with students requiring special education support. This part-time position is 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday when instruction is in session, with starting pay of $15.50 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be dependable, and able to assist with personal care needs, while maintaining a positive, respectful demeanor with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1:1 student support experience or ability to support individual students.
• CPR/First Aid certified preferred; willing to be trained.
• Ability to work with staff, students, parents, and providers.
• Good organization and time management.
• Basic understanding of technology.
• Willingness to perform personal care tasks as needed.
• Sitting/standing/bending/walking frequently; some lifting.

Assignment Information and Qualifications

• Part-Time

• Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement and the 2025-2026 Wage Schedule - $15.50/Hour

Essential Functions

• Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
• Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
• Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
• Basic understanding of technology
• Ability to assist with personal care needs
• Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
• Some lifting may be required
• CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
• Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
• Other duties as assigned
