Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Paralegal for a well-established family law practice. This temporary, onsite role is based in Farmington Hills, MI, offering a flexible schedule while supporting a busy, collaborative legal team.

The position is 24 hours per week (three days), with competitive pay at $45/hour and an immediate start. You will assist with pleadings, e-filing, and discovery, while maintaining organized case files and calendars.

Qualifications

• Previous paralegal experience.
• Demonstrated experience with family law litigation procedures and court filings.
• Strong e-filing experience and familiarity with state court systems.
• Experience managing discovery and preparing litigation documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and proofread pleadings, motions, declarations, and other legal documents.
• Handle electronic filing (e-filing) in state courts and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including drafting, organizing, and responding to discovery requests.
• Review case documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients regarding case status and scheduling.
• Maintain case files, calendars, and litigation deadlines.
• Perform additional paralegal and legal administrative duties to support the practice.

Compensation $45/hr.
