Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a part-time paraeducator at Cresthaven Elementary School in Silver Spring to support students with IEP goals and classroom activities.

Under supervision, you will assist with instructional activities, monitor behavior, and provide clerical support to teachers. Flexible scheduling may apply, and the position is at a Title I school requiring adaptability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and practices applicable to assignment.
• Ability to implement instructional program and monitor student behavior.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Read/write/speak English; work with students with special needs.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, MS Office and web-based instructional tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IEP-directed learning activities and classroom supports.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical needs.
• Provide clerical support to teachers and staff as needed.
• Promote safety and positive behavior in learning environments.
