Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a PAT Registered Nurse in the Pre-Op/PACU department. This part-time position offers 24 hours per week across three 8-hour shifts, with no evenings, weekends, or on-call requirements.

The nurse will maintain a computer database for tracking surgical patients, schedule surgeries, assess pre-admission testing, and coordinate with physicians and anesthesia to ensure a smooth preoperative process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license required.
• BCLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in perioperative or PACU is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a computer database for tracking surgical patients.
• Schedule patients for surgery per communication from surgery schedulers.
• Obtain and review all pre-admission testing for the surgical patient.
• Conduct a phone assessment to obtain medical and medication history.
• Coordinate with primary care physicians, cardiologists, oncologists, and anesthesia staff to ensure preoperative readiness.
• Communicate with anesthesia staff and surgeons to answer preoperative questions and ensure a smooth schedule.
• Evaluate patients for allergies and arrange allergy testing when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
