Job summary

Smart & Final is seeking a Part-Time Associate (Overnight Load Crew) at our Los Angeles store. The role supports store operations, stocking shelves, and delivering a positive shopping experience.

You will read and follow directions, operate a cash register, assist customers, and help with perishables. This position starts at $18.50 per hour and offers opportunities to grow with a long-standing retailer.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned store section; stock merchandise; price items; rotate stock; prep perishables.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays; review invoices for accuracy.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards inside and outside store and parking lot.
• Operate a cash register; process payments and refunds with management approval.
• Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous customer assistance with store/product information.
• Load customer purchases to vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping; record lost/damaged goods and store supplies.
