Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson is seeking a Direct Support Professional for overnight residential care in our Department for Persons with Disabilities. The DSP helps meet residents' health, safety and welfare in group homes, with responsibilities including personal care, supervision and life skills.

This 17.5‑hour weekly role offers a regular hourly pay of $20.49–$21.49, paid training and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of residents.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of residents in the group home.
• Assist with personal care, cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.
