Responsibilities

As a Part Time Outside Plant Fielder/Inspector, you are responsible for performing the daily QC responsibilities associated with the establishment and monitoring of defined processes required in the delivery and execution of all project activities. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Provide specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection & testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, and quality tools for problem-solving and assessment
  • Create inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met
  • Make recommendations for corrective action
  • Apply knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution
  • Implement principles of performance evaluation and prediction methods are used to improve product systems safety, reliability, and maintainability
  • Generate reports of conditions found during inspection activities, notify operations and QC management of significant problems, and complete documentation necessary to attest to the satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities
  • Under supervision develop skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of production and operations to specifications
  • Assist in documentation to attest to the satisfactory completion of the inspection, corrective action, or test activities

Qualifications

  • You have 2+ years of verifiable experience in the telecommunications &/or construction field
  • You have an understanding of drawings, permits, and specifications relevant to the Fiber, Cellular, and/or Cable industry
  • You are computer literate, knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Possess strong analytical and/or problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Qualify on pre-employment screening, including non-negligent driving record
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends- continue education for Engineering design and best practices

Work Environment:

  • Requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions + remote work
  • Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site

Additional Details:

Compensation:

  • Production Pay: You will be compensated based on the number of units produced, with a minimum hourly rate of $15.50 per hour, or the current CA minimum wage, whichever is greater. Paystubs will clearly indicate your base hourly pay, production pay, and any overtime calculations for full transparency.
  • For company meetings or training sessions, you will be compensated at an hourly rate.
  • Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with California labor laws, at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek.

Breaks and Meal Periods:

  • Employees are entitled to rest breaks and meal breaks in accordance with California labor laws.

At-will employment:

  • Your employment with MasTec is "at-will," meaning either you or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.

Schedule:

  • Part-time hours with scheduling based on production/customer needs.
  • Attendance required at periodic company meetings and training sessions (paid at hourly rate).

Employment Status:

  • This is a part-time employee position, and the employee will be entitled to all protections and benefits as required by California law.
