Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines seeks a Part-time Outbound Freight Handler in Conley, GA. The role involves loading and unloading freight, preparing trailers, and ensuring safe handling with proper equipment. You should be able to pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing, with preferred forklift certification and prior dock/warehouse experience.

Pay ranges from $18.70 to $22.20 per hour, with a second shift. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Experience in dock or warehouse environments preferred.
• Material handling and safe loading/unloading practices required.
• Able to pass background check and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off of equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
• Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to move freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments; plan cube utilization and weight distribution.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material paperwork and placarding when needed.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
