Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to support skilled therapy under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will provide direct patient care per the treatment plan, educate patients and caregivers, and help prepare for discharge as appropriate.

You will contribute to evaluations, document patient progress, and participate in activities that promote independence, pain relief, and functional recovery.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AOTA accredited COTA program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation by performing delegated assessments and reporting observations to the supervising therapist.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising therapist and care team.
• Educate patients and caregivers and document in the patient record.
• Submit accurate and timely documentation per policies.
• Treat to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance under supervision.
• Promote coordination of care through interdisciplinary communication.
• Instruct patients in exercises developed by the Occupational Therapist for strengthening and conditioning.
• Uphold ethical standards in interactions with patients and healthcare team.
• Meet productivity standards and perform other duties as assigned.
