The VA Northern California Health Care System is seeking an Orthopedic Physician to join the Chico VA Outpatient Clinic as an office-based orthopedic surgeon. In this role, you will provide both invasive and non-invasive outpatient orthopedic care to scheduled and walk-in patients. Responsibilities include discussing the risks, benefits, and alternative treatment options with patients, obtaining informed consent, and performing procedures in line with policy and best practices. You will be accountable to the Chief of Orthopedics within the Surgical Services Department, ensuring the effective delivery of state-of-the-art orthopedic care, including consult and referral management, triage, and initiating referrals as clinically indicated. This is an exciting opportunity to serve Veterans while delivering high-quality care in a collaborative environment.

INCENTIVES:

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) offers up to $200,000 over 5-years, tax-free and/or Recruitment Incentive with minimum 3-year service obligation. Recruitment/Relocation may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Work Schedule:

16 hours 2 days per week.

Pay:

Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off:

50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

Retirement:

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Insurance:

Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

Licensure:

1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

CME:

Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).

Malpractice:

Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.

Contract:

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Salary:

$330,000 - $390,000 per year.
