Job summary

Walmart Vision Center in Springfield, MO seeks a licensed optometrist to provide evidence-based eye care and exceptional customer service. You will manage patient flow, update records, and collaborate with pharmacists, clinics, and store staff to ensure compliant, high-quality care.

You will perform comprehensive eye exams, prescribe treatments, educate patients, and participate in the broader Walmart health strategy. This role is part-time and on-site at the Springfield location.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) is required.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service through all patient interactions.
• Maintain and update patient information in vision center systems (e.g., BOSS) in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner.
• Assist vision center staff and opticians on best practices and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to state, local, and federal healthcare regulations and Walmart guidelines.
• Perform administrative and retail tasks including financial transactions and patient registration.
• Coordinate with pharmacists, clinics, store management and external health professionals for integrated patient care.
