The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks part-time adjunct faculty for Emergency Medicine at open rank (Adjoint Instructor or Adjunct Senior Instructor). The position supports clinical care and bedside teaching across UCHealth locations, including possible virtual platforms.

The successful candidate will contribute to patient care quality, participate in CME and committee work, and help lead at least one project annually.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado Medical License, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Completion of an emergency medicine residency.
• Board prepared or certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Eligible for Adjoint Instructor or Adjoint Senior Instructor based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an attending in the emergency department at approved sites, including UCHealth facilities and virtual platforms.
• Lead or participate in efforts to improve patient safety, clinical quality and patient experience, with leadership of at least one project annually if requested.
• Participate in rotating sick call coverage per department guidelines, if applicable.
• Complete CME per departmental guidelines.
• Serve on department or practice-site committees as needed.

Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeksindividuals with demonstrated commitment to creating acomprehensive learning and working environment. The Department of Emergency Medicine at theUniversity of Colorado School of Medicine is currently recruitingemergency medicine physicians in the clinical series. This positionwill work as a part-time clinical faculty at the AdjointInstructor/Adjoint Senior Instructor level in the Department ofEmergency Medicine at any UCHealth site of practice, which mayinclude virtual platforms of care. The successful candidate will bean excellent clinician who collaborates well within teams todeliver the highest quality of emergency care to every patient,every time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as an attending in the emergency department at one of theapproved sites, including: any affiliated free-standing emergencydepartment, virtual health care, Broomfield Hospital, HighlandsRanch Hospital, or the University of Colorado Hospital.
• Actively participate in efforts to improve patient safety,clinical quality and patient experience and provide leadership ofat least one project annually, if requested by the Chair ordesignee.
• Participate in the rotating sick call coverage schedule perdepartmental or practice site guidelines, if applicable.
• Complete necessary CME per departmental and/or practice siteguidelines.
• Serve as a committee member as needed by the Department orpractice site on an ad hoc basis.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located inDenver, CO metropolitan area.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the timeofhire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as AdjointInstructor or Adjoint Senior Instructor based on experience andqualifications as indicated below:

Adjoint Instructor

• Current Colorado Medical License, or ability to obtain prior tostart date
• Completion of an emergency medicine residency
• Board prepared or certified by the American Board of EmergencyMedicine
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree

Adjoint Senior Instructor

• Current Colorado Medical License, or ability to obtain prior tostart date
• Completion of an emergency medicine residency
• Board prepared or certified by the American Board of EmergencyMedicine
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
• Completion of a fellowship in emergency medicine or otherspecialty

Preferred Qualifications:

• A demonstrated track record of excellent clinicalperformance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Possess a strong dedication to clinical activities, includingproviding care to adult and pediatric patients. Competent inbedside teaching of learners including residents and medicalstudents
