Description

Join Learning Grove, a premier nonprofit early childhood education provider in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, where our passion for quality education transforms lives. As an On-Site Substitute Teacher, you will be a crucial part of our team, stepping into our beautiful, high-quality classrooms when we need you most. You will support our dedicated lead teachers by engaging children in learning activities, meal times, and nap periods, ensuring continuity of our child-centered curriculum based on Constructivist Theory. Your role is vital in maintaining our high standards and fostering the nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that defines Learning Grove.

Job Requirements
  1. Education & Certification:
    1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
    2. A Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, or progress toward a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, is preferred.
    3. Completion of a State Approved Orientation for Child Care Providers, with daily implementation supported by the Director/Assistant Director.
  2. Experience & Skills:
    1. Prior experience working with young children, demonstrating effective classroom management using positive redirection, problem solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening.
    2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
    3. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding program details.
  3. Physical Demands:
    1. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects up to 20 pounds.
    2. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
  1. Classroom Engagement:
    1. Step into diverse classroom settings to support daily learning activities, meal times, nap periods, and teacher breaks.
  2. Environment Maintenance:
    1. Ensure classrooms remain clean, safe, and stimulating by applying Constructivist Theory and positive redirection techniques.
  3. Team Collaboration:
    1. Collaborate with lead teachers, center directors, and fellow staff members to maintain the high-quality, home-like environment that defines Learning Grove.
  4. Communication & Confidentiality:
    1. Maintain positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and team members, and safeguard confidential information regarding the program, families, and staff.
Salary

Competitive, industry-standard compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. Specific salary details will be provided during the hiring process and may vary based on full-time or part-time status.
