Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for outpatient Oncology at the Washington University Medical Center. The role provides direct patient care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within established nursing standards.

Shifts are 8 hours, Monday through Friday, totaling 24 hours per week with various start times. This safety-sensitive position emphasizes patient education, safety, and collaboration with an interprofessional team.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required.
• Nursing diploma/associate degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on illness management, home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family or caregiver.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care; considers patient values and cultural needs.
