Job summary

MindCare Solutions in Texas is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team on a part-time basis. You will conduct assessments, provide diagnosis and treatment plans, and collaborate with the care team across hospital settings including ED and IP consults.

The successful candidate will round in one hospital, prescribe medications as needed, and participate in one weekend shift per month with on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with PMHNP specialization.
• Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in TX.
• Board certification as PMHNP-BC.
• Minimum 1 year clinical PMHNP experience in hospital or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and formulate diagnosis and treatment plans for BHU/Med Surg patients.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality psychiatric care.
• Perform daily rounds at one designated hospital and ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to ED and IP consult requests with expert assessments and recommendations.
• Document accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide education and support to residents and families regarding mental health options.
• Participate in one weekend shift per month and on-call shifts as required.
