The Office Assistant and Receptionist greets and assists all visitors to the Jacobs School of Music (JSoM) Office of the Deans including faculty, staff, students, parents, executive guests, esteemed musicians, and university dignitaries.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Assists the members of the Deans Office with day-to-day activities and individual projects in support of the Jacobs School of Music.
- Assists with scheduling meetings and coordinating events including organizing and implementing luncheons, receptions, and special events.
- Conducts research on the web or by reaching out to university offices.
- Assists with preparation of documents and correspondence.
- Edits, copies, and prints; answers the main JSoM phone line and responds to email communications.
- Orders and maintains office supplies.
- Assists with other administrative tasks and projects as needed.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Required- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to be responsible, detail oriented, organized and a multi-tasker
- Diplomatic and able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times.
