Job description

We are seeking a patient focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our fast-paced and supportive Emergency Medicine team at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Downtown Indianapolis!

Position Details:

  • Part-Time
    • 0.6 FTE, 83.2 hours per month; ~ 7-10 shifts per month (various shift lengths, times, and assignments); quarterly scheduling allowing for some flexibility month-to-month.
    • Expectation to rotate through all shift types (some night APP coverage currently to offset night shifts for rotating team members)
  • 1-2 weekends per month, holidays are rotated
  • Staff main Emergency Department and observation unit.
  • Large team of physicians and APPs
  • Urban setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independentlyin different areas of the Emergency Department including the main ED and observation unit.
  • Provide acute care for all patient types; focused on lower acuity patients with potential collaborative care on higher acuity cases.
  • Care for level 3,4, and 5 ER patients. As proficiency increases,will care for level 2 patientsin collaboration with the attending.
  • Perform bedside ER procedures.

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, FNPor PA certifications required
  • Emergency Medicine APP experience strongly preferred
  • Will accept new graduates who have a strong EM background
