  • Valid and current NMTCB or ARRT-N certification.

Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) is a member of the nuclear medicine department's operational staff. The technologist performs nuclear medicine tests, such as PET scans, to aid in diagnosing and treating neurology patients. The ideal candidate must be able to navigate the demands of neurology PET imaging effectively. They must be licensed according to the State of California Radiologic Health branch and perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceutical materials. The technologist should work safely in an outpatient setting and interact appropriately with other patient care departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and work within the scope of practice for Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
  • Collect relevant patient medical information to adjust nuclear medicine test parameters per provider orders.
  • Receive, store, prepare, and calibrate dosages of radiopharmaceutical materials, including individual unit doses.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology training program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid and current NMTCB or ARRT-N certification.
  • Valid and current CTNM license issued by the State of California.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Registered Electroencephalographic (REEGT) Technologist.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

  • Ability to administer radiopharmaceutical medications.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for test results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm and compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Monday - Friday
