The position involves assessing patients, developing care plans, documenting records, administering medications, and maintaining professional boundaries while building therapeutic rapport with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by state.
• One year of nursing experience; prior psychiatric/behavioral experience is a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required per state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
• Provide nursing care within nursing practice standards and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Assess patient status continuously and document changes.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status and events.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries with patients.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed and communicate with the treatment team.
