Job summary

St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Medical Technologist for per diem night shifts as a Generalist. The role requires performing routine and specialized laboratory tests with independent judgment and ensuring accurate result release.

Responsibilities include quality control, documentation, and safe handling of specimens and hazardous materials, with flexibility to cover day/evening openings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological/chemical/clinical laboratory science or related field.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) preferred; no experience required if certified.
• One year of relevant clinical laboratory experience for non-degree holders.
• Laboratory information system experience (Cerner) desirable.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests as a Generalist.
• Exercise independent professional judgement before releasing results.
• Maintain documentation in LIS or manual logs.
• Handle infectious specimens and hazardous materials safely.
• Adapt work methods to staffing needs and shifts.

ASCP MT/MLS preferred
