The candidate will handle quality control, interpret results, and communicate findings to physicians, maintaining thorough documentation and safe handling of specimens and chemicals.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree or equivalent in biological/chemical/laboratory science; MT/MLS ASCP preferred.
• One year clinical lab experience if degree in biological/chemical sciences.
• Lab procedures require independent judgement and adherence to protocols; Cerner LIS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests.
• Apply independent professional judgement to result acceptability before release.
• Recognize critical values and respond appropriately.
• Perform quality control testing per protocol.
• Interpret and communicate lab results to physicians and hospital staff.
• Maintain documentation in LIS or manual logs.
• Manage infectious specimens and hazardous materials safely.
• Adapt methods and schedules to staffing needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
