Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a part-time Shelter Coordinator to support the Denver Metro area shelters. You will cover breaks, manage facilities during shifts, and ensure a safe, clean environment for residents.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and crisis-deescalation skills. Qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent human services experience, plus the ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related area or the equivalent experience in human services.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures participants' voices are heard and participate in programming.
• Documents all participant interactions and eligibility information.
• Maintains safety and wellbeing of program participants and facility cleanliness.
• Oversees facility maintenance, including routines and alarms.
• Trains and supervises volunteers during shifts.
• Performs front desk duties: calls, intakes, donations, mail, and bus tickets.
