Job summary

Bluestone Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a Part Time Night rotation Mental Health Technician (MHT) to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. The role focuses on safety, therapeutic environment, and support for high-risk patients.

Responsibilities include assisting with counseling, admissions, vital signs, and coordinated care. Requires High School Diploma with relevant crisis intervention skills; benefits include health plans and tuition support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; certification noted.
• Three years inpatient pediatric psychiatry experience acceptable with HS diploma.
• CDCA, RBT or QMHS required if only HS diploma.
• Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation abilities.
• Able to communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing clients for group and individual counseling.
• Assist in admissions, take vital signs, and notify RN of changes.
• Act as liaison between patient and nursing/clinical teams.
• Supervise patients during high-risk care with safety focus.
• Perform general nursing tasks and assist with ADLs.
• Document accurately and report safety concerns to RN.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and participate in CQI activities.
• Orient new staff and support a culture of safety and quality.
