Job Purpose

Ensure existing facilities are kept clean, safe, and well maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas: interior (hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multipurpose room) and exterior (perimeter, parking lot, playground, windows).
• Empty trash receptacles and dust furniture, window sills, air vents.
• Clean and sterilize restrooms; handle bodily messes as trained.
• Maintain cafeteria cleanliness, including waste removal and table cleaning.
• Sterilize high-use areas to reduce bacteria spread.
• Assist with cleaning projects and building maintenance.
• Travel to nearby schools or warehouses as needed.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Accountability Procedures

Performance will be assessed annually by the Director of Projects & Facilities in coordination with school administration.

• Carry a hand-held radio if assigned.
• Remain on school property during work hours, including lunch.
• Report and assist in emergencies; no unauthorized errands off-campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; ongoing education in construction or facilities preferred.
• At least 1 year of janitorial experience.
• Knowledge and skills related to janitorial work and safety procedures.
