Job summary

NewsNation in New York seeks a part-time Associate Director to manage timing and control room operations during live and pre-taped broadcasts. You will cue graphics, coordinate feeds, and serve as the main contact for Master Control under the supervision of the Director.

The role requires 2–3 years of control room experience, familiarity with iNews/ENPS, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Union membership (DGA) is required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of control room and studio experience in broadcast news.
• Experience with newsroom computer systems (iNews, ENPS) is a plus.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and multitasking in fast-paced environments.
• Willing to work weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays.
• DGA union membership is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director during live and pre-taped productions by timing elements, triggering graphics, and coordinating feeds.
• Traffic video and graphic elements in rundowns and cue video via Bit Central playout systems.
• Coordinate directly with Master Control to confirm commercial break times and manage adjustments when breaks are preempted for breaking news.
• Collaborate closely with Line Producers to monitor show and segment timing.
• Perform other related control room duties as assigned by the Director or Executive
