Hearing loss is one of the most common birth defects in the US. Undetected hearing loss can lead to delays in speech and language development. Your role as a Newborn Hearing Screening Technician is to help identify infants with hearing loss at birth and ensure they receive appropriate care. This is a part-time position based in a busy Newborn Nursery / NICU hospital setting.
Location: Community Medical Center in Missoula MT
Schedule: Alternating weekends and 1-2 weekday shifts each week with a start time of 8:30 AM daily. Shifts generally average between 3-5 hours daily. This position offers approximately 6-12 hours per week.
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour + $1.00/hr weekend differential
Position fit: This part-time position can provide supplemental income and is suitable for stay-at-home parents and college students. Schedules are established quarterly. You will receive extensive training to gain thorough knowledge of procedures and instruments.
Role summary: The Newborn Hearing Screening Technician performs hearing screens on newborn infants, provides education to parents regarding the relevance of hearing screening and early intervention, and records patient information and hearing screen results. The screener conducts these screenings prior to patient discharge and supports patient care goals and objectives.
