Job summary

DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA is seeking a Student TA for DES-230 Narrative I. The TA will assist the instructor in lectures and labs, help with grading, and support students during published office hours, with weekly meetings for feedback.

This part-time, on-site position requires current DigiPen students, a minimum GPA, and DES 330 with a B or higher. Expected schedule includes Wednesday lecture and Friday labs; wage ranges from $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, August 31 to December

Qualifications

• Successfully completed DES 330 with a B or higher
• Access to a laptop during lecture and/or lab as needed
• Possess a positive attitude toward learning and willingness to help others excel
• Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor
• Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours
• Comfortable with multiple aspects of Narrative Design, Twine, English composition, and other narrative design techniques and methods
• Able to give critique in a professional manner
• Reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students
• Be able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Classroom set up and tear-down tables during class
• Making copies for students
• Grading and giving actionable feedback on student work
• Assisting students in labs and during published office hours (at least 2 hours a week)
• Meeting students online, if required
• Grading lab-reports using provided guidelines
• Uploading feedback onto Moodle
• Providing constructive feedback in grading
• Timely delivery of graded reports/assignments and maintaining consistency and clarity in grading
• Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked
