Job summary

Jovie in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a warm, patient nanny for a lively 1-year-old. You will follow daily routines, plan age-appropriate activities, supervise meals and naps, and accompany walks and outings. The role is dog-friendly and requires CPR, a valid driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle. There is flexibility to stay later and add hours.

Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starts ASAP with an approximate duration of six months.

Qualifications

• 5 years of childcare experience with infants (12–24 months).
• Comfortable with dogs.
• Strong knowledge of infant safety and attentiveness.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Fluent English and excellent communication.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license; willing to undergo driving screen.
• Able to lift 30 lbs and engage child without screens.
• Flexible to work additional hours and stay later.

Responsibilities

• Follow current schedule and provide all child-related care.
• Feed child with meals/snacks prepared by the family.
• Diaper changes, wake windows, and nap routines.
• Engage in play-based learning and age-appropriate activities.
• Go on walks and read to the child.
• Provide sensory play and ensure safety at all times.
• Light household tasks related to the child (toys, dishes, laundry).

Summary

We are a laid-back, creative, and communicative family who value kindness, curiosity, and cultural openness. We both work in entertainment, and one parent works from home most days. We enjoy maintaining a calm and mindful home environment and are looking for someone collaborative, proactive, and flexible. We also have two friendly small dogs in the home.

Our 1-year-old daughter is an energetic, active toddler. She’s cruising around and will be walking really soon. She is interested in everything! She loves climbing, playing in the sandbox, music, songs, and books!

A bit about you

You are patient, calm, communicative, and highly engaging with toddlers. You LOVE getting to spend part of your week with a 1-year-old! You genuinely enjoy talking, reading, singing, going on walks, and planning age-appropriate activities that encourage development without relying on screens. You are proactive, organized, and comfortable communicating openly with parents while respecting family routines and preferences. You are flexible with working later when needed.

Job Duties

All child-related care, including following the current schedule and feeding our child solid meals/snacks that we prep for her each day (including cutting food into more manageable pieces), diaper changes, following wake windows and nap routine, engaging in play-based learning, age-appropriate activities, going for walks, reading, sensory play, ensuring safety, light household tasks related to our daughter such as wiping down toys, wiping high chair, cleaning child’s dishes and bottles, child’s laundry, and communicating with parents. Occasional driving to parks or other fun excursions.

Qualifications

5 years of childcare experience with infants (12-24 months old), must be comfortable with dogs, strong knowledge of infant safety and attentiveness, CPR certification or willing to get, fluent in English, good communication skills, a reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, open to a driving screen for employment, comfortable driving child in personal vehicle with car seat provided, flexible to work additional hours on occasion or stay later, able to lift 30 lbs, and able to engage our child without screens.

Set yourself apart

It would be a major bonus (though not required) if you have any kind of medical background, preschool teaching experience, or an education in Child Development.
