WHO/WHAT:
A LITTLE SCHOOL-DAY SHUFFLE, A LOT OF HOUSEHOLD MAGIC!
Are you the kind of person who loves a good to-do list, finds satisfaction in an organized home, and enjoys making life a little easier for a busy family? If you're equally comfortable helping a four-year-old get out the door in the morning as you are tackling grocery shopping, laundry, and meal prep, this Highland Park family would love to meet you!
This wonderful family is looking for a dependable, proactive Nanny/House Manager to join them three days per week through June. With two busy parents who travel frequently, they're hoping to find someone who can step in, take ownership of the day-to-day details, and help keep their household running smoothly.
Your mornings will begin around 7:30 AM, helping their energetic son get ready for the day, gathering his belongings, and making sure he's off to school with everything he needs. His school is located in Mt. Washington, approximately 30 minutes from their Highland Park home, so you'll need a reliable vehicle of your own for school drop-offs and pick-ups. Of course, mileage will be reimbursed! His school day runs from approximately 8:30 AM to 2:30/3:00 PM.
And here's where this position is a little different from your typical nanny role! While their son is at school, you'll have several hours to focus on making the household run beautifully. Think family laundry, grocery shopping, meal prep, unloading the dishwasher, putting things away, keeping spaces organized, and staying ahead of the little tasks that make such a big difference in a family's week. The goal isn't just checking things off a list- it's having someone who can look around, recognize what needs to be done, and jump in without waiting to be asked.
The family also understands the value of a little flexibility! If you'd prefer to use some of the school-day hours for personal appointments or errands, they're happy to accommodate unpaid time during the workday, as long as it's coordinated in advance.
Once school lets out, you'll head back to Mt. Washington for pick-up and spend the remainder of the afternoon with their son until the workday ends at 5 PM. He's an active, curious little guy who loves toy cars, exploring, and staying busy. While childcare is only a portion of the day, the family would love someone who enjoys his energy and can create a warm, playful environment when they're together.
The family is hoping for a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday schedule, but they have flexibility to consider other three-day combinations between Monday and Thursday. This position will continue through June, with the possibility of staying on approximately one day per week afterward for someone interested in a little ongoing work!
You're organized, dependable, and naturally proactive. You don't need a detailed checklist to notice the laundry piling up, the fridge needing groceries, or the dishwasher waiting to be unloaded. You take pride in being the person who helps everything run a little more smoothly! You're comfortable managing your time independently, juggling household responsibilities, and shifting gears between childcare and home management. You enjoy preparing meals, keeping things tidy, and finding ways to take tasks off a busy family's plate.
You're also warm, playful, and confident with young children. Helping a five-year-old navigate busy mornings, managing school transportation, and enjoying some afternoon playtime all come naturally to you. You're a safe, responsible driver who doesn't mind the daily commute between Highland Park and Mt. Washington. Most importantly, you're reliable, communicative, and someone a family can truly count on. With parents who travel often, having another capable, caring adult helping keep things on track would mean the world to them.
