Job description

Part time Nanny (live out) required for a busy Chelsea family with 2 school age boys starting ASAP. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general the parents are looking for a highly trustworthy, safety-conscious, and dependable nanny to care for their two boys, aged 8 and 4. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, positive, comfortable maintaining clear boundaries, and proactive in managing the children's active schedules. The parents are looking to partner with another nanny (their long term nanny recently retired) who is looking for a long term commitment. The primary focus is to pick up the boys from school (school is within walking distance) and provide engaging after school care - including after school activities, dinner, and evening routine. Candidates who truly love kids and making genuine connections will be a great match for this family!

A physically active candidate who enjoys outdoor time and has energy to sustain busy afternoons with two boys is key to this role! The candidate should be highly organized, naturally proactive and a strong communicator. You will need to be someone who can show initiative and good instincts with daily tasks including managing schedules, transitions and cooking meals. Basic daily meal prep and cooking for the boys is required for this role. The parents value honesty, discretion and punctuality and surrounding their boys with strong role models. Candidates who enjoy educational play, love to explore/plan outings across the city and can adapt to the ever evolving schedules of boys will be a great match for this family!

Location: Chelsea, NY

Days/times: Guaranteed 30hrs/ week, Monday through Friday, general hours to land between 12.30pm - 6.30pm. Ability to flex to full time (8.30am - 6.30pm) days/weeks as needed with advance notice (scheduled days off from school, some weeks during the summer when boys are not in camp).

No travel or weekends expected with this role.

Children: Two boys (b. 2018 + 2021)

Conditions: $35 - $40 per hour* (take home) plus unlimited monthly OMNY card, sick/personal days, public holidays and at least two weeks paid leave per year. Family is willing to offer a healthcare stipend for their ideal candidate and is open to interviewing exceptional candidates above their advertised rate.

• Authorization to work in the US
• A well-suited demeanor and experience working with school age children
• Ability and interest to commit long term with the family
• Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
• Physically able (and interest) in managing 2 children on daily commutes and outdoor play
• Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
• Ability to complete all child related duties (including daily meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying/organizing bedroom and play/toy areas, etc)
• Readiness to help with child related tasks - including meal prep, kids laundry, general tidying of all areas, etc
