Job description

Full-time lead Nanny required for a West Village family with four young children (ages 1-8). Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing loving care to the children and child related duties (laundry, cooking, tidying and cleaning). The three older children are in school 9am-3pm with the youngest (age 1) home all day. An afternoon nanny works 3-7pm to assist with busy afternoon schedules (sports, activities, etc).

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 10-15 years of experience caring for multiple children, have excellent attention to detail and be a discreet, mature and professional caregiver. This is a fast-paced and demanding role with high expectations; proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and having a team oriented mindset while remaining calm and collected is essential in this role. Adhering to and helping to facilitate planned schedules, school drop offs, pick ups and participating in classes are expected. You will be the lead nanny partnering alongside other caregivers and parents when caring for all four children, but should be comfortable with times when care for all four is required. T he family values someone who is extremely motivated and punctual, detail-oriented, warm and upbeat, enjoys being active, and takes initiative with the children and around the house. This is a live-out position, with the flexibility, interest and ability to travel domestically and internationally as well as assist with overnights as needed.

Location: West Village, NYC

Days/times: Guaranteed 40 hours per week, but general rhythm will be 48 hours with general schedule Monday through Thursday 7am-7pm. The family has other childcare support Friday through Sunday. Flexibility for overnights and travel is required as well as covering for other nannies when needed.

Children: Four children: ages 1-8

Conditions: $50 per hour* (paid as a W2 employee with all hours above 40 paid at x1.5) plus unlimited monthly OMNY card, public holidays, sick/personal days and two weeks paid leave per year. Family open to offsetting health insurance with a healthcare stipend for the ideal candidate.

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

• Authorization to work in the US
• A minimum of 10 years experience as a full-time nanny working in private home with multiple children
• A well-suited demeanor for working with children pre-school and school aged children
• A schedule with flexibility for evening coverage (work events/date nights), ability to travel with family domestically, internationally (and stay overnights/late as needed).
• Experience with educational milestones (teaching background would be ideal)
• Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence.
• Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
• Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (cooking, organizing, laundry, etc.). Family employs a FT Housekeeper.
• Comfortable working in a partnership/alongside with other caregivers and Mother in the home, while able to handle children for periods alone, when needed.
• Demonstrates professionalism and discretion at all times, reflecting the high standards and values prioritized by the family
• Fluency in both oral and written English
