Rehoboth United Methodist Church is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as part-time Music/Choir Director and accompanist located in the Dentsville area of Columbia and is a diverse fellowship of believers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as part-time music director and accompanist. This individual will work with the pastor in planning for the enhancement of the worship service by offering a variety of musical types/styles.

Requirements:

• Music degree preferred
• Past experience as accompanist in a church setting
• Proficient on organ and piano
• Dependable and enthusiastic

Duties will include:

• Along with the Pastor, plan music for the weekly worship service as well as special services (ex. Lenten and Easter services, Advent and Christmas, revival, etc.)
• Accompany congregation during worship services (organ/piano)
• Direct and accompany adult choir in practice and worship
• Accompany children’s programs such as vacation church school and plays when needed
• Maintain choral music library
• Oversee care, tuning and maintenance ( w/direction of trustees ) of piano and organ
• Development and support of music program
