Job summary

Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, MI seeks a part-time Visitor Services Representative (less than 20 hours/week) to greet visitors, orient them to the museum and programs, and support daily operations.

You will assist at the front desk, circulate as Gallery Educator, provide exhibition information, process admissions and memberships, answer inquiries, and help maintain a welcoming campus environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work with the public and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and engage museum guests, orientating them to the facility and current exhibitions.
• Perform the role of Gallery Educator circulating through galleries, providing information on artworks and campus history.
• Assist at front desk with admissions, memberships, and visitor information.
• Stand and walk in galleries during shifts and ensure a welcoming environment.
• Handle point-of-sale duties at the front desk and enter visitor information and fees.
• Answer Visitor Services inquiries by phone and email and provide accurate information.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobby, reception desk, storage areas, and galleries.
• Navigate the building with accessibility considerations for strollers and handicapped visitors.
• Follow opening/closing procedures and monitor daily inventory procedures.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and dress code as per employee handbook.
