Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and analytical Part-Time Multifamily Asset Manager to oversee the performance of our multifamily real estate portfolio. This role is not a property management position. Instead, it is focused on maximizing property-level value and investment returns through financial analysis, capital planning, performance oversight, and coordination with third-party property managers.

The ideal candidate has experience in multifamily asset management, understands multifamily investment strategy, and can operate independently while providing high-level oversight and reporting to ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance of multifamily assets against budget, pro forma, and key financial metrics.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting packages to ownership, summarizing financial results, leasing trends, and capital project updates.
  • Serve as the liaison between ownership and third-party property management teams.
  • Review and analyze property financial statements, rent rolls, and operating reports.
  • Identify opportunities to increase net operating income (NOI) and asset value through revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmark performance against the market.
  • Capital Planning & Execution
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of capital improvement plans and renovation budgets.
  • Evaluate and prioritize capital expenditures in alignment with ownerships investment objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and property positioning to support leasing and asset-level decision-making.
  • Participate in refinancing, sale, or recapitalization strategies as needed.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
  • Interface with lenders, legal, accounting, and other professional service providers.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise updates and investment memos to ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or Masters in Real Estate preferred.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in multifamily asset management or real estate investment.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills (Excel proficiency required).
  • Experience with property management software and reporting platforms (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Flexible hours; estimated commitment of 2025 hours per week depending on the portfolio size and project cycle.
  • Mostly remote work with quarterly site visits or in-person meetings as required.
