Streamline Scientific in Austin, TX is looking for a Part Time Molecular Lab Technician to support day-to-day screening in our new molecular testing laboratory. This role emphasizes the PCR process and careful handling of specimens to ensure precise results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or AS in Clinical Laboratory Technology.
• 6 months work experience in a CLIA-accredited clinical laboratory preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and to lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimens and organize workflow for testing efficiency.
• Extract, denature, and purify DNA/RNA from various specimens.
• Perform PCR sequencing methods.
• Evaluate results for interference, inhibition, or issues during extraction/amplification/sequencing.
• Perform quality control and other activities to verify assay performance.
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Record data for temperatures of incubation equipment.
• Operate complex equipment and related software.
• Keep the work environment neat and compliant with policies.
• Assist in writing/maintaining SOPs for clinical assays.
